Thermodynamic investigation of La0.65Ca0.35MnO3 at very low temperature

Description

The temperature dependent heat capacity of large magnetoresistance compound La0.65Ca0.35MnO3 was studied in the 1-10 K temperature range. The calculations has been made within the frame work of Rigid ion Model (RIM) by using the long range Coulomb and short range Hafmeister-Flygare (HF) repulsive potential. Good agreement is obtained with measured value of heat capacity at low temperature of T.Okuda et. al and L.Givalder et.al. In addition, the results on the cohesive energy (φ), molecular force constant (f), Restrahalen frequency (vo), Debye temperature (ΘD) and Gruneisen parameter (γ) are also given. (author)
