D-SPECT, a semiconductor dedicated to the heart. Its practical use and advantages

  • 1. Hyogo Brain and Heart Center, Department of Cardiology, Himeji, Hyogo (Japan)

Description

It has been more than 10 years since the first semiconductor gamma camera was introduced in Japan. High resolution, high sensitivity, and high energy resolution are the three main features of semiconductor gamma cameras. Myocardial SPECT allows non-invasive evaluation of blood flow distribution and in vivo evaluation of myocardial metabolism by utilizing the characteristics of tracers. We have started using D-SPECT ; a column semiconductor detector specifically for cardiac use, at our facility in 2015. this paper, we described our clinical experience with D-SPECT SPECT, focusing on 1) high quality images using thallium, 2) simultaneous dual isotope imaging with technetium and Iodine for ischemic heart disease and Takotsubo cardiomyopathy. And finally, I discussed the regional myocardial blood flow reserve on D-SPECT. (author)
