Computerized radiation dose monitoring

Description

The purpose of this paper is to develop an accurate, user-friendly, cost-effective approach to computerized radiation dose monitoring. IBM-based software has been developed as a system that can be added on to virtually any existing radiographic generator to yield radiation exposures and radiation-absorbed dose for the entire spectrum of currently performed radiographic examinations. The computer tabulates parameters for radiography, fluoroscopy, 105-mm photospots, digital spots, routine fluoroscopic spots, and digital subtraction angiography and sums these parameters, displaying total radiation exposure, exposure times area exposed, and radiation-absorbed dose for the entire procedure. This is printed out in traditional and SI units
