Measurement of the energy dependence of level density over a wide range in neighbouring odd and even-even nuclei

Description
The energy dependence of the nuclear level density in 69As and 70Ge has been extracted from the first-step evaporation proton spectra in the reactions 12C+58Ni and 12C+59Co at Ebeam = 36-60 MeV. Their comparison provides information on the excitation energy dependence of the pairing and shell effect over a wide range of ∼5-24 MeV. (author)
