Ceramics baking temperature influence on the dosimetric parameters essential in TL dating
Description
Thermoluminescence in quartz is used for dating of ceramics. The main problem is the 'intercept', i.e. the deviation from linearity in the relationship thermoluminescence versus absorbed dose of natural radiation. This deviation is most probably dependent on the fabrication method of the ceramics. In the present work the hypothesis is tested that the most important parameter, in this respect, is the baking temperature. Four types of ceramic bricks were fabricated, with four burning cycles of end temperatures of 5500C, 6500C, 9000C and 12000C respectively, then irradiated and finally underwent the TL-procedure. The results are discussed with regard of the maximum of glow curve, intensity, fading, sensitivity to beta radiation and to additional alpha radiation and the intercept. (qui)
