Radioiodoination of 15-(p-iodophenyl)-6-tellurapentadecanoic acid by triazene decomposition with radioiodide
Description
Radioiodinated tellurium fatty acids are important in diagnosing heart disease because of the 'trapping' phenomenon in the myocardium. A synthetic method for preparing radioiodinated para-iodophenyl tellurium fatty acids is developed, involving the decomposition of the aryltriazene intermediate. Na 123I and Na 125I were used for radioiodination. Tissue distribution studies were carried out on rats, and pronounced myocardial uptake resulted. (U.K.)
