Computation of azimuthally dependent albedo data by invariant embedding

  • 1. Science Applications Inc., Clearwater, Florida (USA)

Description

Considerations relative to use of the iterative procedure of Shimizu and Aoki (implemented in SLDN) to compute azimuthally dependent albedo data for a semi-infinite slab are discussed. Use of the Cesaro means of order two of the scattering cross section is suggested as a device for insuring positivity of the truncated representation; some implications of this approach are presented. An experimental code (ADADBIE) implementing these ideas is described, and some preliminary computational results are presented. (author)
