Tumor scanning with gallium 67

Description

A brief history of the medical uses of 67Ga is given. The scanning procedure is described and the concentration of the isotope in various tissues and organs is discussed. The usefulness of 67Ga in studying various types of clinical situations, including cancer, is discussed. The advantages of 67Ga over other radioisotopes in whole-body scanning are emphasized. (HLW)
