Consistent-performance test for quality control in X-ray imaging technology including film processing

The consistent-performance test will monitor the standard of technical quality of an X-ray picture facility by means of selected test parameters (dose, optical density, contrast, useful radiation field). Over and beyond, the same test radiograph is used for checking film processing. By dividing the testing equipment into absorption filters for insertion into the collimator and test plate, a high degree of practicability is obtained like e.g. easy mounting on lung wall holders. The test specimen made from PTFE (Teflon) displays largely tissue-equivalent properties when X-rayed and, consequently, may be used as a 'substitute patient' over and beyond consistent-performance testing.
