Self-organization of flute waves in a rotating bounded plasma cylinder

  • 1. Tbilisskij Gosudarstvennyj Univ., Tbilisi (USSR). Inst. Prikladnoj Matematiki

Description

The packet of electrostatic flute waves in a rotating bounded plasma cylinder is shown to be self-organised in the form of vortex satellites moving in the azimuthal direction with constant angular velocity. Their information is favourable in terms of a minimum of the energy required due to the negativeness of the wave portion of the perturbation energy, and is self-sustained through dissipation processes.
