Radiation resistivity characteristics of a linear motion guide using the rice-bran-ceramic slider

Description

High power proton beam in the J-PARC accelerator raises heavy radiation in the accelerator's tunnel in case of beam manipulation at the injection or the extraction section. Stable operation with reliable devices is one of the important themes of the J-PARC although the high dose situation. This report shows a result of gamma ray irradiation examination about a linear motion guide using a unique slider, called RB-ceramic slider, to stand the high dose condition. The drive performance has been confirmed no deterioration through the dose of up to 50 MGy. (author)
