Corrosion properties of Al doped with Li

Description

Variation of corrosion resistance, of mechanical properties, of corrosion potential of binary Al-Li-alloys depending on concentration of lithium in aluminium within 0.8-2.3% and degree of intermediate product ageing is studied. All the investigated alloys under-aged and aged for maximal strength are shown to have high resistance to corrosion cracking to stratifying corrosion, to intercrystallite corrosion resulted from absence of electrochemical heterogeneity of the body and grain boundaries
