Effect of gamma-radiations on peroxidase activity in developing grains of Triticale

Description
Effect of gamma-radiations on the activity of peroxidase was measured during the development of grain of triticale. Peroxidase activity was highest initially, in UPT 72142, which had the maximum shrivelled grain, while UPT 79354 with the least shrivelling had lesser enzyme activity. Enzyme activity decreased in UPT 72142 with grain maturation whereas it increased in the other two strains. Radiations enhanced enzyme activity at 45 kR. 2 figures, 7 refs. (author)
