Description
New experimental data on the breakup of the 3.25 A GeV/c oxygen nuclei into multicharged fragments in interactions with protons are presented. When the total charge of fragments equals the charge of the initial nuclei, there survive only channels with evenly charged fragments and always with a yield of helium nuclei which are mainly 4 He nuclei. In the events when all nucleons of the projectile nucleus are conserved, the fragments consist of four α-particles or of an α-particle and a 12 C nucleus
