Dielectric and piezoelectric properties of MnO2-added non-stoichiometric (K0.5Na0.5)0.97(Nb0.96Sb0.04) O3 ceramics

Description

In this study, the non-stoichiometric composition [(K0.5Na0.5)0.97(Nb0.96Sb0.04)] O3 + 0.8 mol% CuO + x mol% MnO2 + 0.2 wt% Ag2O ceramics were fabricated (where x = 0, 0.3, 0.6, and 0.9, respectively). Also, their dielectric and piezoelectric properties were investigated. For 0.6-mol% MnO2-doped [(K0.5Na0.5)0.97(Nb0.96Sb0.04)]O3 (abbreviated as KNNS) ceramics sintered at 1080 .deg. C the bulk density (ρ), the electromechanical coupling coefficient (kp), the mechanical quality factor (Qm), the dielectric constant (εr) and the piezoelectric constant (d33) showed excellent values of 4.453 g/cm3 and 0.438, 545, 404, and 80 pC/N, respectively.
