The electric field gradients on Nd, Co and B in Nd/sub 2/Co/sub 14/B compound

  • 1. Dept. of Solid State Physics, Univ. of Mining and Metallurgy al. Mickiewicza 30 30-059 Krakow (Poland)

Description

The quadrupole splits and oscillations of the Nd, Co and B NRM lines allow the authors to obtain the values of electric field gradients (e.f.g.) on those atoms in Nd/sub 2/Co/sub 14/B. To explain observed e.f.g. the calculated lattice contributions and intraatomic contributions are considered to give reasonable agreement with the experimental values. From these analyses it is concluded that the effective boron charge is negative
