The measurement of the surface dose and the calibration of soft X-ray dosimeters

Description
A method is presented for calibrating the commercial soft X-ray dosimeters against a device which measures back-scatter contribution in addition to the ionization produced by direct radiation. The calibration of these dosimeters directly in terms of surface dose in Rad offers greater convenience for routine use relieving the physicists of some routine calculations. The details of construction of the surface chamber and the results of calibration of a soft X-ray chamber, also designed in this laboratory, are presented. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Es wird eine Methode zur Kalibrierung kommerzieller Dosimeter fuer weiche Roentgenstrahlen gegen ein Dosimeter beschrieben, das den Anteil der Rueckstreuung zusaetzlich zu der durch Ionisation durch Primaerstrahlung misst. Die Kalibrierung dieser unmittelbar die Ermittlung der Oberflaechendosis in Rad ermoeglichenden Dosimeter bietet einen groesseren Vorteil fuer die Routineverwendung und erspart den Physikern manche Routineberechnung. Die Einzelheiten ueber die Konstruktion der Oberflaechenkammer und die Ergebnisse der Kalibrierung einer Kammer fuer weiche Roentgenstrahlen, die ebenfalls in diesem Labor entwickelt wurden, werden beschrieben.
