Improvement of floating roof tanks for liquids, more particularly for storage tanks used in nuclear power plants

Description

The invention deals with floating roof tanks for liquids, comprising a cylindrical wall, a floating roof and a flexible membrane sealing the roof circumference to the wall. The present tank has a protection against a filling excess when the roof is at its upper position, an overflow pipe on the outer face of the wall with a U-shaped portion at its upper end at the maximal desired reservoir filling level. The invention can be applied to the storage tanks ensuring the reserve of degased water for a primary coolant circuit of a nuclear reactor

Abstract (French)

L'invention concerne les reservoirs a toit flottant pour liquides, du type comportant une paroi cylindrique, un toit flottant et une membrane souple reliant le pourtour du toit flottant a la paroi. Conformement a l'invention, le reservoir comporte, pour une protection contre un exces de remplissage lorsque le toit est en position haute, une canalisation de trop plein montee a l'exterieur et presentant une portion en forme de crosse disposee a une hauteur correspondant au niveau maximal predetermine du liquide dans le reservoir en position haute du toit. La presente invention peut s'appliquer au domaine electronucleaire, pour des reservoirs de stockage assurant l'appoint en eau degazee pour un circuit primaire de reacteur nucleaire
