Construction and some potential applications of electron-beam-excited semiconductor lasers (review)
Creators
Description
The construction of electron-beam-excited semiconductor lasers, their present characteristics, and electron-optics requirements are discussed. The characteristics of laboratory prototypes and of sealed commercially produced laser tubes are given. Potential applications of these lasers in information transmission systems, projection television, metrology, and spectroscopy are reviewed.
