Recent developments in high pT physics
Description
Recent developments in high pT hadron physics are reviewed. After a brief historical overview, the theoretical framework is sketched. The main emphasis is put on new experimental results. These concern events with single hadrons and symmetric pairs of hadrons at large pT, direct photons, and other highly inelastic events, defined as events with a large transverse energy in an extended solid angle. Measurements of the inclusive cross section for jet production are described in some detail. 115 refs., 47 figs. (author)
