Problems with 'drain bottom' junction in RALOC code. Experience from ISP-42 (PANDA) Project. Rev. 0
Description
Two insights related to the modelling of gravity-driven cooling system drain line (GDCSDL) are summarized. The one is related to problems with correct modelling of GDCS drain line opening. The problem was temporarily solved by modification of the input data. The other problem stems from the fact that water velocity in GDCSDL was not calculated correctly by RALOC with respect to experimental data. This is due to fact that RALOC does not take into account change of water level in the target zone. Several options to overcome this problem were considered but none was found generally acceptable. It is recommended that the 'drain bottom' junction be modified in RALOC so as to take into account water level changes in the target zone. (P.A.)
