Criticality safety in processing and handling fissile materials

Description

The numerical values and curves given are valid for an isolated system of grid-like ordered rods without cladding in H2O at maximum reflection. The UO2 density is maximum 10.96 g/cm3, water density 1 g/cm3. The rods have a grid arrangement by keeping equal distances. The length of rod, grid distance and rod diameter are random. The maximum degree of enrichment is 5% U235. Maximum reflection is practically achieved by a water layer of at least 30 cm, thick and density 1 g/cm3. Note should be taken of the regulations in DIN 25 403 when using the above standard. (orig.)

Abstract (German)

Die angegebenen Zahlenwerte und Kurven gelten fuer ein isoliertes System aus gitterfoermig angeordneten UO2 Staeben ohne Huellrohr in H2O bei maximaler Reflexion. Die UO2-Dichte betraegt maximal 10,96 g/cm3, die Wasserdichte 1 g/cm3. Die Staebe sind unter Einhaltung aequidistanter Abstaende gitterfoermig angeordnet. Stablaenge, Gitterabstand und Stabdurchmesser sind beliebig. Der maximale Anreichungsgrad betraegt 5% U235. Maximale Reflexion wird praktisch erreicht durch eine mindestens 30 cm dicke Wasserschicht der Dichte 1 g/cm3. Bei Benutzung dieser Norm sind die in DIN 25 403 festgelegten Grundsaetze zu beachten.
