Luminescent-spectral properties of SOCl2-GaCl3 system activated by uranyl ions
Creators
Description
A liquid aprotic system, SOCl2-GaCl3-UO2Cl2, is synthesized. Absorption and luminescence spectra are investigated (at 300 and 77 K), uranyl luminescence attenuation time is determined. It is established that under exposure of SOCl2-GaCl3-UO2Cl2 solutions to light, photochemical reduction of UO22+ up to U4+ takes place and results in an instability of luminescent-spectral properties of the system under investigation. UO22+ reduction does not occur under conditions which exclude light exposure
