Description
The next-generation synchrotron radiation facility (NanoTerasu) is the first domestic synchrotron radiation facility to exclude the experimental hall from the radiation-controlled area. To achieve this, radiation shielding calculations for the optical hutch of the QST beamline were performed. Using the Monte Carlo simulation code PHITS, detailed 3D models of the optical hutch and its interior were created from CAD drawings. The hutch structure and internal shields were designed to ensure that radiation levels outside the hutch remain below the regulatory limits for all anticipated radiation sources. (J.P.N.)

(著者)Additional details
