Structural and photoelectrical properties of Zn/sub x/Cd/sub 1-x/S layers prepared by the Zn/sub x/Cd/sub 1-x/S + Cr2O3 system
Description
A simple method is proposed for preparing Zn/sub x/Cd/sub 1-x/S polycrystalline layers. The samples are formed from CdS + ZnS + Cr2O3 sintered tablets. After annealing and sublimation of CdS and ZnS from the tablets surface a Cr2O3 powder layer remains which is covered by a polycrystalline Zn/sub x/Cd/sub 1-x/S layer obtained by cooling and crystallization of sublimated vapors on Cr2O3 substrate. It has been shown that the high UV photosensitivity of the layer is due to the oxidizing ability of Cr2O3
