A trend of the public opinion concerning nuclear power generation in the United States and Europe after Fukushima Daiichi Power Plant accident

In the present trend, the author surveyed the American and European opinion about nuclear power generation after Fukushima Daiichi Power Plant accident and analyzed the current public opinion about nuclear power generation abroad. As a result, it was found that the percentage of American people who have a positive attitude towards nuclear power has decreased after the accident. However, the percentage of American people who support nuclear power generation was still higher than 50%. This result may demonstrate the fact that phenomenon called 'nuclear power Renaissance' is still alive in the US. Furthermore, it was also found that the attitude of the French people towards nuclear power plants was still positive, but the percentage of German people supporting them decreased to much lower than 50%.
