The government draft of the Combined Heat and Power Generation Act 2016. Exit strategy or prospects for the future?
Description
The combined heat and power (CHP) is in addition to renewable energy and energy efficiency a cornerstone for the transformation of the energy sector towards greater climate and environmental friendliness. Due to the situation in the energy markets currently plants operated with natural gas have come under pressure. Against the background of the critical economic situation of many gas-based cogeneration plants, it is therefore necessary, with a new combined heat and power law (CHP) to provide planning security for the plant operator. Meanwhile, there is a government draft of the Combined Heat and Power Generation Act in 2016, which includes far-reaching changes for the CHP. This article summarizes the most important changes.
Abstract (German)
Die Kraft-Waerme-Kopplung (KWK) ist neben den erneuerbaren Energien und der Energieeffizienz einer der Eckpfeiler fuer die Transformation des Energiesektors hin zu mehr Klima- und Umweltfreundlichkeit. Aufgrund der Situation auf den Energiemaerkten sind aber gerade mit Erdgas betriebene Anlagen unter Druck geraten. Vor dem Hintergrund der wirtschaftlich kritischen Situation vieler gasbasierter KWK-Anlagen gilt es daher, durch ein neues Kraft-Waerme-Kopplungs-Gesetz (KWKG) Planungssicherheit fuer die Anlagenbetreiber zu schaffen. Inzwischen liegt ein Regierungsentwurf zum KWKG 2016 vor, der weitreichende Aenderungen fuer die KWK beinhaltet. Dieser Artikel fasst die wichtigsten Aenderungen zusammen.Additional details
