High-field (1.5 T) MR imaging of insults to the central nervous system in neonates and infants
Description
One hundred neonates and infants less than 2 years old (50% < 6 months old) were imaged using a 1.5-T magnet. For 80% of the patients CT and/or US correlation of MR findings was available. Neonatal tumors, intraventricular hemorrhage, superior sagittal sinus thrombosis, seizure disorder, and patterns of normal and abnormal myelination were some of the clinical conditions examined. Imaging technique, neonatal monitoring concerns, and other practical considerations are addressed
