Photoconductivity of NiBr2 single crystals
Description
Energy and temperature dependence of photoconductivity spectra are shown for NiBr2. Strong currents are excited by charge transfer transitions while the localized crystal field transitions give, as expected, an effect orders of magnitude smaller. A broad photoconductivity peak at 2 eV is interpreted as being due to a defect with a very loosely bound electron
