Studies on the effects of x-rays on root-tip anaphase in four species of lathrus
Description
The effects of X-rays on the four species of Lathyrus were investigated in relation to chromosome aberrations in root-tip anaphase. Hydrated seeds were irradiated with x-radiation doses ranging from 0.5 to 5.00 kR. The dose dependence of the observed reactions was not found to be the same for each of the species under investigation. It has been observed that radiosensitivity of a species depends upon the chromosome length. (M.G.B.)
