Description

Generation of electricity poses at least three major concerns to the public. The first is the relative risk of different energy forms. The second is the so-called greenhouse effect. The third is the effect of long-lived radioactive wastes that are the result of nuclear power. Unless these problems can be conquered, electricity will be under a dark cloud for years to come. This article describes these obstacles briefly, and outlines some possible methods of overcoming public concerns. (author)
