Possibility of high-accuracy measurements of helium isotope ratios by the MI 1210 mass spectrometer

  • 1. AN SSSR, Leningrad (Russian Federation). Fiziko-Tekhnicheskij Inst.

Description

The MI 1210 spectrometer is a static magnetic mass spectrometer with a sector analytical magnet. An investigated gas is ionized in an ion source by electron impact with magnetic focusing of the electron beam. The detection system consists of two movable collectors and VEhU-2B multipliers. Some features are described of the method for measuring the helium isotopes by the MI 1210 mass spectrometer. Its modernization ensured the reproducibility of the 3He/4He ratio relative measurements up to 0.01%. 2 refs.; 3 figs
