Trends in particle physics
Description
My talk is divided into two main sections. First I shall discuss the region up to a few hundred GeV., where the gross features of the phenomena are probably well described by QCD and SU(2)sub(L) x U(1). I will then consider speculations about the region beyond 1 TeV., identifying possible alternatives and stressing experiments which may discriminate between them (or against all of them). I shall take it for granted that gauge theories provide the correct framework. (orig.)
