  • 1. Moskovskij Inzhenerno-Fizichskij Inst., Moscow (Russian Federation)

Description

An attempt to simulate the severe reactivity accident course at the RBMK-1000 reactor of the Chernobyl NPP beginning from the neutron burst which parameters are considered to be given up to the moment of the pressure growth in the reactor cavity following the fuel channels rupture is discussed. The processes of the fuel element failures, fuel fragmentation, generation and propagation of pressure pulses during fragmented fuel interaction with the coolant, as well as the reactor fuel channels dynamic rupture are considered. The comparison of the values calculated and measured during the accident for the pressure in steam separator drums, as well as that for the total duration of the processes with the accident development time dependence are realized. The conclusion on a good agreement in the data is drawn
