Liquid metals and alloys. Chapter 85
Description
This chapter summarizes the actual understanding, both theoretical and experimental, of the properties of the liquid metals and alloys of the rare earth's (R's). First the physical properties, such as density, liquid structure, surface tension and viscosity are discussed. Then a treatment is given of the electronic structure and magnetic properties, followed by a discussion of thermodynamic properties like specific heat and thermal conductivity. Finally, electronic transport properties, such as electrical resistivity and thermoelectric power and the Hall effect, are treated. (H.W.). 179 refs.; 20 figs.; 10 tabs
