Uranium nano-particles cross the pulmonary epithelial barrier

Description
Understanding the biological effects of low-dose ionizing radiation and the conditions under which they can lead to pathologies is a major societal concern, as well as a highly complex scientific challenge. IRSN conducts experimental research to respond to this challenge. In a recent study, the progress of uranium nanoparticles that had entered an organism via a particular exposure pathway - namely acute inhalation - was tracked in vivo. (author)
