He excitation from the metastable 23S state by electron impact

Description
Excitation cross sections of 31P, 33P, 33D and 43D levels from the metastable 23S state of He by electron impact are calculated in the asymptotic second Born approximation. For exchange scattering a certain modification of formulae has been employed, allowing for the specific features of exchange scattering on metastable He. In most cases there is a good agreement with the latest experimental data. The results given differ appreciably from those obtained by other calculations
