Description

Method for calculating differential cross section of charged particle inelastic scattering by atoms based on using a statistical atomic model is described. Analytical expressions determining inelastic scattering cross section of differential-in-energy electron knocked out from atom have been derived for atomic potential written down in the most general form. Results of calculating inelastic scattering cross section of protons with 121 keV, 2, 3.8 and 6.1 MeV energies with Ne, Al, Si and Ar atoms are given. It is shown that the application area of the Thomas-Fermi statistical model during such calculations is limited with a range of fairly high energies of knocked-out electrons
