Description

In this paper a new class of aliphatic polycarbonate oligomers that greatly improves the properties of radiation curable systems is presented. Through the use of these oligomers hydrolytic stability and outdoor durability can be achieved without compromising any other aspect of the coating performance making it deal for many interior as well as exterior applications such as automotive coatings and UV adhesives. In addition, the chemical constituents of this new class of aliphatic polycarbonates awards low surface energy making them suitable for coating of low surface energy substrates e.g within the field of graphic arts.
