Spectroscopic studies of monohalo acetates of praseodymium
- 1. Bhavnagar University, Bhavnagar (India). Dept. of Chemistry
Description
Monohalo substituted acetates of praseodymium of the types Pr(CH2XCOO)3.3H2O and Pr(CH2XCOO)3 (where X=F, Cl, Br, I) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, thermal decomposition, molecular weight, magnetic moment, infrared and absorption spectral studies. Absorption spectra of the anhydrous praseodymium compounds have been recorded in non-aqueous polar solvents like DMF, DMSO, MeOH and their equimolar binary mixtures. Both energy interaction and intensity parameters have been computed using partial and multiple regression methods. The infrared spectral and absorption spectral data have been used to propose coordination geometries for these compounds. (author). 3 tables, 18 refs
