Discovery of a new spectroscopic binary: 21 Hydrae

Description

The star 21 Hydrae, HD 79193, classified as Am by Stroemgren is a spectroscopic binary with a period of 7.75 days and a mass ratio m1/m2 = 1.14. The primary Star seems to belong to giant class III and the secondary may be a dwarf close to A0 type. (orig.)

Abstract (German)

Der von Stroemgren als Am-Stern klassifizierte Stern 21 Hydrae, HD 79193, ist ein spektroskopischer Binaerstern mit einer Periode von 7,75 Tagen und einem Massenverhaeltnis von m1/m2 = 1,14. Der Primaerstern koennte ein Riese der Klasse III sein und der Begleiter ein Zwergstern von einem aehnlichen Typ wie A0. (orig./AK)
