Gamma-ray induced variability in greengram
Creators
- 1. Gobind Ballabh Pant Univ. of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar (India)
Description
Dry seeds of 'Pusa Baisakhi' greengram [vigna radiata (Linn.) Wilczek] were exposed to 60CO at doses of 20, 30, 40 and 50 kR. The mean days to maturity, plant height, pods/cluster and 100-seed weight increased at all the doses except at 50 kR for days to maturity. There was a decrease in the mean number of seeds/pods, as well as in pods, clusters, seeds and yield/plant. The irradiated populations showed higher variance over the control at all doses in the M3 generation. (author)
