A rechargeable hydrogen battery

Creators

Description

Hydrogen, the most abundant element in universe is well known as clean energy source for decades. Here we formulate a rechargeable hydrogen battery for the first time. We are demonstrating a reversible energy conversion system, which shuttles H+- ion back and forth during charging and discharging respectively, with the regain of consumed hydrogen during charging. This was successfully attained by exploiting the hydrogenation and dehydrogenation of simple quinone, which is environmentally benign and economic organic molecules
