Development of a software for radiological analysis of cells in radiopharmacy laboratories

Description

This paper aims to develop software for radiological analysis of cells in Radiopharmacy laboratories where different radioisotopes are divided for various practices. The software developed responds to the needs that regulatory bodies may present of each country with respect to the evaluation of the radiological design of cells, because one of the input parameters is the average dose rate at any time (TADR) and shield thickness Calculated by the software conforms to the TADR imposed by the user. The novelty of the software is that shows as an output parameter the instantaneous dose rate (IDR) at the radiological point of interest, which is advantageous because the detector reading can be compared during the survey radiometric with the one calculated by the software. The calculation methodology used is the one that is set forth in NCRP 151, with the difference that the TVL considered were calculated by taking counts the transmission coefficients per material and the energy of each radioisotope. The software was developed in the MATLAB work environment and validated by applying numerical simulations using the point Kernel method with multilayer build-up approaches by the Monte Carlo method. He The result of the IDR obtained showed a difference of approximately 12% with respect to the method of validation.
