Description
The history of safety research in the area of serious accidents is related. It is shown how this research is increasingly taking on the form of international cooperation. The problems of thermohydraulics, in the pressure vessel as well as outside of it, are discussed. Furthermore, the behavior of safety sources, the meaning of source terms and the fission product transport are addressed. 10 refs
