Description
Using an impact-parameter representation of the empirical, broad multiplicity distributions for charged hadrons produced in pp collisions at 30 GeV and in anti pp collisions at 540 GeV, extrapolations to predictions for these distributions at 2 TeV and at 40 TeV are made. A concept of large effective clusters is considered, related to the multiplicity distribution for central collisions and its variation with energy. (orig.)
