Role of optic phonons in the superconductivity of PdH and PdD

  • 1. Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, California

Description

Using a simple, isotropic phonon model, the contribution of optic modes to the electron-phonon coupling constant is found to exceed that of acoustic phonons only slightly. The Coulomb pseudopotential parameter μ* is found to be rather small. The inverse isotope effect is analyzed and related to changes in both the hydrogen-palladium and hydrogen-hydrogen force constants
