100 years of nuclear activities. Chronological landmarks in the history of nuclear activity. 1896-1995

  • 1. Direction de la Communication, CEA, 75 - Paris (France)

Description

This monograph presents the history of nuclear activity in the world between the 1896, when Henri Becquerel discovered the radioactivity, and 1995. In a condensed manner more then 700 events are retained and briefly described. The task of the editors of CEA was difficult twice, because the material to be selected was huge and because the final space assigned for every event was limited in size. The process of validation of any piece of history, originating from a great variety of sources, was a difficult one because of the great number of the documents consulted. Photos of the men, places and documents, making the nuclear history, illustrate generously this precious work
