On initial masses of stars, that become Wolf-Rayet stars

  • 1. AN SSSR, Moscow. Astronomicheskij Sovet

Description

It is shown that the spatial distribution and number ratio of massive O and B stars, found by Conti et al., is consistent with the statement, that Wolf-Rayet stars are produced by components of close binaries with Nsub(1.2) γte or approximately 20 Msub(sum) and by all other stars with M > or approximately 40 Msub(sum)
