Description
The use of the mathematical modeling technique by the Monte Carlo method (MC) uses probabilistic functions and random numbers to perform calculations that simulate physical systems, such as the transport of radioactive particles. The determination of the first and second half values layers (HVL) for a given spectrum and a predefined distance tested the advantages and disadvantages of each code in solving a simple task. The results were consistent but discrepant between each one about 2.5 and 6%, and the conclusion is that the codes are powerful and user-friendly, requiring a few computer language knowledge.
